D/P Flow & Pressure
Winterization
An O'Brien Vipak
instrument enclosure is used to maintain freeze protection for a D/P and
pressure transmitter in a flow loop. Freeze protection is maintained to -20
degrees F. The instrument enclosure also provides a power connection kit for
electric tracer power. The instruments and manifolds were supplied by the
customer and mounted in the enclosure complete with internal crossover tubing
and electrical conduit for transmitter wiring installed by O'Brien. The impulse
lines from the orifice taps were constructed with O'Brien Tracepak. The tubing
and electric tracing in the impulse lines were bent with tube fitting ferrules
set for connection to the instrument in the field. Heat shrink boots were also
located and shrank to the tubing bundle by O'Brien prior to shipment. The
enclosure was shipped with appropriate O'Brien Saddlepak instrument support
modules for the specific installation requirements.
Advantages to this system approach are
installation of instruments, tubing, and brackets by factory personnel trained
and experienced with the components in a shop environment. Design and
procurement of all necessary components by O'Brien
Corporation allows the customer to issue
a single purchase order. The enclosure arrives on site ready to install; the
instruments and trace power kit are installed; crossover tubing is installed;
tubing fittings are installed; and the impulse line connects by tightening two
tube fittings on the tubes that are pre-bent to connection centers.
