Cooling Tower Water Analyzer
This
Analyzer system provides continuous monitoring of cooling water quality. The
cooling water can be improved by blowdown and makeup to decrease percent
solids. Conductivity is an indicator of solids concentration. Typical
conductivity targets for this application range from 1500 to 4000 micro siemen
per centimeter squared.
The system consists of a Foxboro 871 FT
Flow-through conductivity sensor and redundant 871-3pH sensors with 316
stainless steel flow chambers. Complete sensor and transmitter diagnostics are
provided by Foxboro 870I loop powered transmitters. Advantages of the 871FT
Flow-through sensor are the ability to be calibrated in line and the
replaceable RTD. The 871-3F pH sensor with ruggidized flat glass construction
provides durable measurement of pH in the range of 2 to 12. The system is
winterized for operation at -20° F with an O'Brien Vipak enclosure and
explosion proof heater. Power connection kits are provided to power tracing for
sample lines.
The system can also be configured to measure
Bromine used as an algaecide by using an 871A ORP (Oxidation Reduction
Potential ) sensor in place of one of the pH sensors. The target range for
bromine is typically 350 to 400 mV.
